Krisjon Vargas

MS, BAHS (Athletic Therapy), HBSc, R.Kin, RMT, CAT(C)
Athletic Therapist & Massage Therapist

Krisjon's Bio

Specialized in: Evaluation of motor control and biomechanics of movement, injury prevention and rehabilitation, strength and conditioning for elite athletes.

Experience: Canada Basketball’s Junior National Team Head Athletic Therapist, and Senior National Team Athletic Therapist, Michigan State University’s football and basketball Athletic Trainer (Big Ten Conference Champions), University of Florida Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (Biomechanics).

Over the course of his career, Krisjon has provided mentorship to many young physicians and helped athletes and active lifestylers return to their physical lives pain-free and primed to reach levels of performance they didn’t even know were possible.

Currently leading the Integrated Support Team for Canada Basketball’s Junior National Team, Krisjon has treated a variety of complex injuries with an emphasis on correcting biomechanics by addressing soft tissue and motor control dysfunction. As a Certified Athletic Therapist, Krisjon’s approach involves applying manual therapeutic techniques to assess, prevent, and recondition musculoskeletal injuries to enhance overall function and performance. His success is grounded in treating the body as a whole instead of as compartmentalized segments where pain exists.

Experience has taught Krisjon that overall health and physical performance hinges upon the body’s innate ability to heal itself. Recognizing that muscles, ligaments, and joints are interconnected with the body’s neuromuscular and energy systems, Krisjon favours a manual approach to treatment rather than relying upon the use of electrical devices or medication.

“Let’s establish good, basic human qualities first…Do you eat well, do you breathe well, do you $hit well? When we establish that, we can build and improve on your own unique foundation. At the end of the day, we are working on one body…yours. So it only makes sense to work with every aspect of you, who you are, what you do and how you do it. Whether we’re on the treatment table or gym floor, there is no difference; training and rehab are the same thing, balanced within one body.”

Dr. Jade Egonia

DC, BSc (Hon Kin)
Chiropractor & Acupuncture Provider
Concussion Management

Dr. Jade's Bio

Specialized in: Spinal Manipulation, Acupuncture, Functional Range Release, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist, Complete Concussion Management, Graston Technique Level I, RockTape Doc, Bone Fit™ Trained Professional, Athletic Movement Assessment, SFMA.

Experience: University of Waterloo Women’s Warriors Varsity Basketball Team, Mimico Mountaineers Junior A and Junior C Lacrosse Club, 2015 Toronto Pan Am & Para Pan Am Games, Mississauga Monarchs U19 Girls Basketball team.

Dr. Jade is not your average chiropractor. She knows very well that the old-school mentality of a chiropractor as someone who sees you for only two minutes simply “cracks” your back when something feels “out of alignment” just doesn’t cut it. While an adjustment can have many great benefits, Dr. Jade believes a good chiropractor can tell whether or not it is necessary.

With a background in kinesiology, Dr. Jade is trained to assess and manage musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. This means that her training extends well beyond the spine to include other joints, muscles, and ligaments in the body. Dr. Jade is certified in Athletic Movement Assessment which identifies and qualifies movement behaviours in athletic performance. She also specializes in concussion management and is certified with the R2P Concussion Management. Dr. Jade is not only experienced in treating athletes, she is also experienced in treating the elderly population. She is a Bone Fit™ trained professional, which is an evidence-informed exercise training designed for healthcare professionals to provide training on the most appropriate, safe & effective methods to prescribe & progress exercise for people with osteoporosis. Her services include diversified spinal manipulation, soft-tissue therapy, Graston technique, biomedical acupuncture, electrical stimulation, and personalized rehabilitative exercises.

“I have a patient-centred approach to therapy because I believe that achieving health goals is a partnership, not a one-way street. This is why the therapy I provide is personalized to what works best for you.”

Lindsey Paduano

RMT
Massage Therapist

Lindsey's Bio

Specialized in: Deep Tissue Massage, Manual Therapy, Athletic Taping, Pre- and Post-natal Massage, Special interest in Yoga, Meditation, and Breathing.

Experience: St. Thomas Moore’s CSS Senior Football (2010-2014), Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Tournament, Hamilton Hurricanes Baseline Concussion testing, Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Lindsey is a fireball of energy. You will understand once you meet her and FEEL (literally) her positive vibes. Her passion for teaching and coaching self-care, ideal posture and body awareness is obvious to see. To her, it doesn’t matter whether you are a high-performance athlete or your average Joe, stress is something we all deal with in our day-to-day life. As a result, these stresses will show up in our body. She is here to release that stress from your muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, etc., so YOU have the ability to MOVE better without restriction, discomfort, or pain. She incorporates the traditions of yoga to stretch and strengthen in order to realign ideal postures and movement behaviours.

Her passion for the human body and how it moves began when she was a competitive athlete herself. She started studying the human body and movement throughout her post-secondary experience; from McMaster studying kinesiology, to Sheridan College studying Exercise Science and Health Promotion, to Mohawk College studying Massage Therapy, where she found her calling. During the first two years as a massage therapist, she started to really understand what self-care meant and how important it is. She realized just how physically demanding being a therapist was, and if she didn’t start taking care of herself, she wouldn’t be able to take care of anybody else. Her yoga practice is her happy medium in self-care. Whether she jumps in a class at a studio or flows through sequences at home, she makes sure to take 45 minutes out of her day to honour her body, and thank it for allowing her to do her physically demanding job on a daily basis. Nevertheless, it didn’t just stop there. EVERYONE has a demanding “something” in their lives that takes a toll on the body and its ability to MOVE WELL. Lindsey will take the time to get to know you, your day-to-day, how you move throughout your day, and the postures you may get stuck in that you were not aware of. She will be able to FEEL the stress in your body that you probably didn’t know was there, which will assist in enhancing your self and body awareness. She is an overall caregiver with a big heart and is willing to help anyone who needs it, especially when it comes to pain, discomfort, and movement restrictions. Life is stressful enough, let her help you manage and remove the toxic build up in your body.

“If I asked you to write a list of all the things you LOVE in your life; how long before you list YOURSELF.”
